Bikini vs Brazilian Wax, Which is Right for Me?

Bikini vs Brazilian Wax, Which is Right for Me?

Brazilian wax or Bikini wax
Brazilian Wax vs Bikini

In a survey of 1,677 women, 1,229 said that they get a Brazilian or Bikini wax because they want a “neater, cleaner look.”

Are you thinking about getting your pubic hair waxed? You’re likely trying to decide between getting a bikini wax or a Brazilian wax, as these are the two most common options.

What are the main benefits of these different waxes? How can you make your choice and be comfortable with your decision?

If you’re trying to decide between a bikini vs. Brazilian wax, keep reading below to learn more about their differences and how to choose the right one for you.

What Is a Bikini Wax?

The bikini was introduced to the market in 1946, and with it came the desire for women to have groomed pubic hair.

A standard bikini wax is when the hair around your bikini line only is removed. This is the hair that pokes out from around underwear or swimsuit bottoms.

A bikini wax is a great option for people that want to tidy up their bikini area. It may help you feel more confident knowing that your hairs are groomed and maintained just how you want them to be.

You also might be more comfortable during the summer, especially when you go to the beach or a public pool if you know that your hair isn’t unruly. A bikini wax means less stress for the average person!

A bikini wax costs $$59.99 Limited time! at Magdalens Pure Skin Care. Because this type of wax removes less hair, it also costs less money!

What Is the Bikini Wax Aftercare Like?

You’re likely to have redness, small bumps, and even some swelling with traditional waxing. Because Magdalens Pure Skin Care uses NuFree (which is not a wax), you will experience very few side effects.

Your skin is likely going to be ready to go as soon as you’re done with the treatment because NuFree is not the same as traditional wax. It is much more gentle on the skin.

What Is a Brazilian Wax?

A Brazilian wax means all of your pubic hair is removed, including hair that grows on your butt crack. This is the most intensive type of pubic hair waxing because it does remove all of the hair, while other types of waxes will only remove certain sections of hair.

A Brazilian wax is great for a person who wants to have smooth skin. This could be for intimacy, but it also might be more comfortable for some people in their day-to-day lives.

Brazilian waxes are extremely popular because many people prefer the way they look over other types of waxes. Like a bikini wax, you will know (with absolute certainty) that your hair isn’t poking out around a swimsuit or underwear because there isn’t any there!

You don’t need to worry about bothering the skin after the treatment is complete either because this is not the same as a regular wax. Your skin is ready to go as soon as the treatment is finished.

Bikini vs. Brazilian Wax: How to Choose

If you’ve never had any waxing done before, it can be a little overwhelming to decide which type of will be best for you. After all, it is a very personal decision to make, and this is completely understandable.

Think about the main reasons that you’re interested in waxing in the first place. Envision what you think you’ll get from experience and what you want it to do for your appearance.

Thinking about it in this way may help you narrow it down enough to make your choice and be comfortable with what you choose to do.

If you still aren’t sure, it may be best to start with a bikini wax. After all, waxing isn’t right for everyone. Having a smaller amount of your hair waxed and deciding you don’t want to do it again is easier than removing all of the hair.

Maybe you’ve had a bikini wax before but are curious about the Brazilian wax.

If you want to try it, you should go ahead and do it! That is the best way to find out if it’s right for you. You may find out that you prefer a bikini wax, and if so, you can have that style instead within a matter of weeks as the hair grows back.

How Fast Does the Hair Grow Back?

The hair grows in phases. It won’t grow back all at the same time, but it is eventually going to grow back in because waxing is not a permanent hair removal treatment.

After you’re waxed for the first time, your growth may come back a little faster than you anticipated. Regrowth can take around 2 weeks.

This is because you still had some hair that was just beneath the skin at the time of waxing. Let’s talk about the different phases of hair growth to explain this in more detail.

Anagen Phase

The anagen phase is the longest phase in hair growth and is the most active phase. When you get waxed, the treatment gets rid of hairs inside the follicle during this stage.

For those of you who have been waxed before, you’ll notice that hair can grow patchy in some areas.

The reason for that is that all of the hairs on your body are growing at different rates, which means they will not all be in the same phase at the same time. As a result, you should get waxed every four weeks to be sure that all of the hairs in the anagen phase are removed.

Catagen Phase

The catagen phase is the shortest phase of hair growth. This is when the hair starts to disconnect from the papilla and doesn’t receive nourishment from the blood vessels in the follicle.

Telogen Phase

The telogen phase is when your hair sheds. The follicle is resting in this stage and preparing to return to the anagen phase again to restart the cycle.

What to Expect Before Your Appointment

You need to think about and prepare for a few things before you have your waxing appointment so that it goes off without a hitch.

First be sure that your hair is long enough to wax. Make sure to have at least 2 to 4 weeks of hair growth before you have your treatment completed.

Because pubic hair is thicker, it is also heavier. This means the wax performs better when it has more of the hair to actually stick to and can reduce breakage.

You can waxed when you’re on your period. Just be sure to wear a tampon or a menstrual cup and let the staff know when you book your appointment. If you’d rather reschedule, that’s fine, too!

You can take an over-the-counter pain reliever if you desire before your appointment if you’re concerned about pain. The pain is not likely to be as bad as you imagine, but if it’s your first time, you may want to do this to settle your nerves.

Lastly, be sure to wear breathable fabrics to your appointment for maximum comfort following the treatment.

What to Expect During Your Appointment

At Magdalens Pure Skin Care, we only take between 10 to 20 minutes for a typical waxing appointment. Sometimes, it will take even less time than this.

We will talk to you about the treatment, consult with you regarding the process, and wax you. It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3!

If you ever have questions or need more information, let us know. We’re happy to help you understand what’s happening. Our goal is for you to have a comfortable waxing appointment, even if it’s your first time.

Having your waxing treatment completed by a trained and skilled professional is of the utmost importance. You want to make sure that you have the least amount of pain and the most amount of hair removed in the desired areas as possible.

Make sure to speak up if you’re uncomfortable so that our staff knows and can adjust what they are doing. We want you to have a positive experience!
